Ice & Rice
This used to be my favorite place, but it has fallen off since. I have been coming here for over 15 years so I have a lot of experience with their flavors. Some of the best ice cream I've had, including a bananas foster, I had here. Now of some other combinations are so weird and the ones that are not, are only okay. Plus, so many of the recent flavors that I've had in the last year have been kind of icy.

Not quite what it used to be in the 1990s and 2000s when it had mythical ice cream quality relative to the other options, but still very good. The melted chocolate on the sundae is every bit as good as it used to be and makes a sundae worth it. And, why not, you can always take the micro portion and not feel guilty (though it is expensive per ounce!)

Are we serious??? Goat chesse browni was the best ice cream Ive had ever in my whole life! I would come back to BOSTON only for it! Another one that we really like was B3!!! Both highly recommended

Toscanini's has been my favorite ice cream spot for over 20 years. Even as I've moved around and lived in other cities, I always make a point to visit whenever I'm back in the Boston area. But a recent experience cemented my loyalty for life. On Presidents' Day, our family showed up around 5 pm, not realizing the shop was closed for the holiday. When we couldn't open the door, we started knocking, thinking it was just stuck. Gus, the owner, came out and let us know they were closed for the day, but then asked us what we were looking for. We told him we were hoping to grab a pint, and he told us to wait just a moment. A few minutes later, he came back with a big bag full of different pints and let us walk away with two of them, suggesting we could come back and pay another day when they were actually open (or perhaps he didn't care!). We came back and paid two weeks later. Thanks, Gus. You're amazing!

thank you gus, your ice cream saved my life after my wisdom tooth surgery. i’m endlessly grateful that you saw us standing outside the store, absolutely puzzled that it was closed. we didnt realize it was a holiday and that toscaninis is closed on mondays! but our savior gus was there. he let us sample so many flavors, the saffron kulfi was so uniquely delicious, and the two caramel flavors were absolutely delightful as well. i wish you great fortune and prosperity! thank you so much!!!!!

I've been here a few times, and it's always hit. My favorite flavor is the "B3", which stands for Brown Sugar, Brown Butter, and Brownies. This seems to be the crowd favorite as well. This is just all around great ice cream a short walk away from Kendall Square. I also prefer this over the nearby New City Microcreamery.

Usually go to the other location, which is basically my favorite ice cream ever. This location gave me huge scoops, which I appreciate, but the apricot rhubarb and the strawberry ice creams were both icy instead of soft and creamy. Hopefully it was just an off day.

If “Somebody Feed Phil” recommends it, you go. Simple as that. Toscanini’s Ice Cream was bustling on a Tuesday night, and it’s easy to see why. The energy was lively and the flavor selection was fantastic — classic staples alongside some creative twists. I went with the Belgian Chocolate and Mexican Vanilla. Both were bright, vibrant, and impossibly creamy — the kind of texture that just melts into happiness. Prices were totally reasonable for the quality, which makes it even easier to say: worth the visit, worth the calories, worth coming back.
